This 1970 GMC C1500 Super Custom is a 4×2 long-bed pickup that is powered by a replacement 383ci stroker V8 mated to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9″ rear axle. The truck is finished in metallic orange over black and tan cloth upholstery, and additional equipment includes a revised torque converter, a shift kit, an Edelbrock intake and carburetor, an MSD ignition system, a Painless Performance wiring harness, an aluminum radiator, Patriot cylinder heads, and Hooker headers as well as chrome 17″ wheels, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, AutoMeter auxiliary gauges, and a Kenwood CD stereo linked to Pioneer speakers. The truck was acquired in 2011 by the seller, who reports that the rear axle seals were replaced in November 2022. This C1500 is now offered in Illinois with a printed list of modifications and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The truck is refinished in metallic orange with a white roof and is said to have been repainted circa 2005 under prior ownership. Exterior details include a chrome grille and bumpers, quadruple headlights, a shaved fuel door, GMC 1500 Super Custom badging, and polished dual exhaust outlets. Spray-in bedliner has been applied, and a black vinyl tonneau cover and 15-gallon fuel cell are fitted in the bed.

Polished 17″ Boyd Coddington wheels are mounted with 235/65 Hercules Terra Trac tires with 2007 and 2008 production date codes. The truck is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The cab houses a bench seat trimmed in black and tan cloth joined by matching door panels, carpets, and sun visors. Interior metal surfaces are painted to match the body color, and appointments include a right-side vanity mirror, lap belts, manual windows, and a Kenwood CD stereo linked to Pioneer speakers in the kick panels.

A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts factory instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel level gauge. AutoMeter gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, engine vacuum, and oil pressure were installed in place of the lower instrument panel gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 383ci stroker V8 was reportedly installed in 2011 and is equipped with an Edelbrock Performer intake and four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke in addition to an MSD ignition system, a Painless Performance wiring harness, Patriot cylinder heads, Hooker headers, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission that is reportedly equipped with a 2,400-rpm stall speed torque converter and a shift kit, and a Ford 9″ rear axle with 3.55:1 gearing is fitted out back. The truck is also equipped with a dual exhaust system. The seller states that the rear axle seals were replaced in November 2022.
